According to Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, as of Tuesday, the county’s positivity rate was 3.4 percent, which is much higher than it was a few weeks ago. There were 96 people hospitalized and 26 in intensive care units as of Tuesday, Curran said.
“What happens next will come down to what each of us do in the next few days and weeks,” Curran said. “Long Island has a difficult winter ahead, but we’ll get through it if we just stick to the basics: wear a mask, practice social distancing, wash hands often.”
