The Moderna vaccine is 94.5% effective against coronavirus, according to early data released Monday by the company, making it the second vaccine in the United States to have a stunningly high success rate.
A week ago, competitor Pfizer Inc. announced its own COVID-19 vaccine appeared similarly effective, at 90% news that puts both companies on track to seek permission within weeks for emergency use in the U.S.
